What To Expect on Sunday Morning

What is it like to visit a church for the first time?

For most of us, it can be a little difficult to know where to go and what to do!  At Faith Church, we consider every visitor to be our guest, as if you were visiting our home. We hope that this page will be of help when you visit us.

Faith Church is located at 5725 Castlewellan Drive in Kingstowne, just off of South Van Dorn Street.

Where do I park?

We have plenty of parking.  Visitor Parking is located in the small parking area on the north side of our building (in front of our worship center), to the left as you enter our campus.  Additional parking can be found in the larger parking lot on the south side to the rear of the building.  Overflow parking is available at Jefferson Funeral Chapel located next door to the church.

Our church is handicapped-accessible, with accessible parking spaces adjacent to the rear entrance.

What happens when I arrive?

There are a couple of ways to enter the building.  The main entry is through the glass doors at the side of the building near the front parking lot and opens into the worship center lobby.  The back entry is through the glass doors at the rear of the building at our church offices.  From here there is easy access to our nursery facilities and our worship center.

There will usually be someone from our Guest Services Team waiting to open the door for you, say hello, and answer your questions.  There is a Welcome Table in the worship center lobby with information about the church and other literature.  Take whatever interests you - it's free!

 What about the kids?

We consider every child a blessing and promise from the Lord.  Because we want every child to experience the love of Jesus Christ, we provide a comfortable environment so that each child may learn and feel loved.

A nursery and children's church are available for the younger children during our Sunday school hour and worship service.

special needs ministry is offered to children with learning disabilities during our Sunday school hour.

More about Children's Ministry - Click Here.

How should I dress?

We have no dress code.  Some people come to church wearing their best clothes, like a dress or a suit and tie.  Others are dressed more casually, shirt and slacks or jeans.  Either way is OK!

What is the worship service like?

Our goal is for each service to be joyful and meaningful as you seek to meet and honor God through worship. We meet in the worship center at 10:30 AM.  You may sit anywhere.

Our worship service is best classified as blended, with lots of singing and prayer.  We love to praise God through music, so we sing both contemporary praise songs and traditional hymns, and often enjoy special selections from our excellent choir and accomplished musicians.

The service usually lasts about an hour and 15 minutes. Someone will hand you a bulletin with the week's announcements and a program for the day's service.

You'll hear a sermon from one of our pastors. We think you'll find the messages encouraging, relevant, and thought provoking. If you have a personal Bible you will probably want to bring it to follow along. We also have Bibles available in the pews.

We normally collect an offering during the service.  We do not ask that our visitors give for the expenses of our church.  But, we would like to know more about you, so we encourage you to sign our Friendship Folder.

What happens after the worship service?

You may find that people are slow to leave after the service.  Many people stand around to visit and enjoy a cup of coffee and a cookie in our Fellowship Hall.  Our pastor stands at the door to shake everyone's hand as they leave.  By the way, we offer coffee, cookies, and conversation in Fellowship Hall at 10:00 AM before the worship begins.
